IPL 2018, KKR vs RR: Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals on its ground

IPL 2018 Kolkata Knight Riders, in a match of the Indian Premier League in Jaipur, on Wednesday, thanks to the excellent partnership of 69 runs for the second wicket between Robin Uthappa (48) and Sunil Narine (35) after the unexpected bowling of spinners. Beat the Royals by seven wickets and register the third win. This is Knight Riders’s third win in five matches, while Royals faced another defeat in four matches.

The Knight Riders had a target of 161 runs and they won by 183 runs in 18.5 overs with 163 runs. Earlier, Robin Uthappa and Sunil Narine took the wicket of the Knight Riders and later captain Dinesh Karthik (42 not out on 23 balls) and Nitish Rana (35 not out from 27 balls) made it to the goal. Robin Uthappa put six fours and two sixes in 36 balls.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane and Darcy Short did not take advantage of the good start. Both of them added 54 runs for the first wicket, but after that, the Royals lost wickets at regular intervals. Three spinners of Knight Riders, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav and Nitish Rana took four for 52 in 10 overs and played an important role in preventing Royals by 160 runs in eight overs.

Nitish  Rana took two wickets for 11 runs in two overs

Chawla’s 18 off four overs and Kuldeep took one wicket each for 23 runs from Knight Riders. Impressive spinner Rana smashed 11 runs in two overs while Tom Curren scored two runs for 19 runs. Narayan did not have the magic of giving less than 20 runs in the last three matches. He got 48 runs in four overs and he got no wicket. ShivamMavi hit one wicket with 40 runs

54 runs partnership between Rahane and Short

Short made 43 runs in 44 balls with five fours and one six and Rahane hit five fours and a six in 36 balls. Rahane and Shorter shared a 54-run partnership for the first wicket. Shortly after this, Rahul Tripathi also shared a 36-run partnership for the third wicket. Tripathi made 15 runs in 11 balls with two fours. Jose Butler scored an unbeaten 24 not out off 18 balls with the help of two fours. Ben Stokes scored 14 and Krishnakappa Gautam scored 12. Due to losing wickets at regular intervals, the Rajasthan team could reach 160 runs in eight wickets at home. Rajasthan scored 48 runs in the last five overs

Uthappa missed half-century

Narayan though performed well in batting After losing the wicket of Chris Lynn (00) on the third ball, Narayan did not allow Kolkata to go in trouble after adding 69 runs for the second wicket with Uthappa. Narain scored five fours and a six in his innings of 25 balls before being run out. For the Royals, off-spinner Gautam took two wickets for 23 runs but other bowlers could not leave the impact. Gautam, who failed to play big innings in the first four matches, also sent a pavilion which missed the half-century. Ben Stokes ended his innings by changing his shot going for six runs. Uthappa hit six fours and two sixes.

Nitish Rana and Karthik put on 61 runs in unbroken partnership

Rana and Karthik then made an unbroken 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket in 37 balls. Both of them initially did not see any kind of haste and paid attention to rotating the strike. Need 35 runs in the last four overs. Both Karthik and Rana reduced the gap between the ball and the runs in each over of Jaidev Unadkat with a six-stroke. Karthik hit Ben Laughlin on the winning six.
