Verdict: Bowling lacks experience

Amidst all the buzz around MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja’s retention in the pre-auction event, Chennai Super Kings have made headlines in the auction by selecting a mix of veterans and rookies. They might also face an opening conundrum with Shane Watson, Murali Vijay, Sam Billings and Faf Du Plessis, all able to fill in the two spots.

The middle order may not worry the franchise, while the bowlers can be a bit of concern. Besides South African Lungi Nidi who destroyed the Indian batsmen at Cape Town, none of the Indian bowlers have had much exposure at this level.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Jersey colors

The base color of the team is yellow with blue and orange stripes on each side of the shirt. The shirt also features a roaring lion logo in the center of the shirt under the banner of the main sponsor, Aircel. The main side of the jersey has been the same since the first season without changes, except the status of the sponsor. The manufacturer has been several until 2014 Reebok and, as of 2015, the Australian manufacturer of sportswear and spartan clothing manufactures sets for the team.
